Basement toilet malfunction in Free Soil, MI
SERVPRO of Manistee, Ludington, and Cadillac was called to the home of an elderly Mason County widow on the July 4th holiday weekend. Because she was mostly confined to the main floor of her home, she didn’t realize that there was a malfunction in the basement toilet. We responded within an hour, documented the loss, took pictures and itemized the damaged contents, removed and hauled away the sewage impacted carpets and started cleaning the mess. This included first mucking out the solids and removing the glued down carpet, steam cleaning the concrete, removing the baseboards and damaged paneling, and moving the savable contents to a safe area for cleaning and drying. The next step was setting drying equipment to return the structure to pre loss conditions and prevent mold growth. After the basement was clean and dry, SERVPRO restored the loss and reset all the homeowners contents truly making it "Like it never even happened."
